Formats for Students
You study at KIT and wonder how students can become part of the maKeIT initiative? The numerous university groups at KIT already offer a great and diverse environment to become a maker. But you haven't found the right thing for you yet? Maybe you want to stay closer to science, e.g. by cooperating with other researchers and working with them on transfer projects in the deep tech area. Or you would like to contribute to the improvement of the general conditions at KIT, e.g. by improving learning conditions.
In the following, you will find an overview of courses in which the maKeIT team participates and first advanced formats for students. Have a look, or feel free to contact us directly with your suggestions!
Teaching Formats
At KIT, there are some courses where you can try yourself as a maker, gain valuable skills and earn ECTS at the same time. Sounds too good to be true, but it is.
Economics team project (economics bachelor)
In the team project "Economics and Technology", 4–5 students work on a problem at the interface between economics and STEM subjects. The results are artifacts (e.g. methods, models, software or components) and not (only) pure documentations. Regularly, the maKeIT team offers tasks from the fields of technology or knowledge transfer.
ECTS: 9

Student2Startup seminar (economics bachelor)
Teams of students support pre-seed startups in addressing a strategic issue (e.g. business model development). The corresponding projects or startups have their origin in research at KIT; they are e.g. participants in the Academy formats of maKeIT. Student2Startup is provided by EnTechnon in cooperation with KIT-Gründerschmiede, KIT-Accelerator upCAT and the maKeIT team.
ECTS: 3

Startup X (economics master)
Based on KIT technologies or patents, teams of students develop startup ideas. In this way, they contribute to KIT's technology transfer and at the same time build up practical knowledge in the areas of team composition, design of value propositions, business model development, and much more.
